NAL Season Postponed Until July, Unable to Access Arena’s for Games

COLUMBUS LIONS SEASON HANGS IN THE BALANCE AS NAL PUSHES BACK SEASON START DATE TO JULY

The NAL had hoped to resume the 2020 season in mid-June. The League recently announced that they won’t be able to start the season until July at this point.

Citing recent information they received from arenas, state and local officials.

Complicating the matter, the NAL has teams in New Jersey and Massachusetts. Two states that have featured coronavirus “hotspots.”

“It’s going to be really difficult, said Columbus Lions Head Coach, Jason Gibson. “It’s going to get to the point where we have to say ‘okay we can’t push this back anymore.’ We’re not going to play into late August and September and compete against college football.”

The NAL hopes to start training camp as early as June 14th. The league is considering a shortened regular season with one or two round playoffs.
