Mexico Sees Largest Single-Day Rise In Deaths, Cases

MEXICO HAS RECORDED ITS LARGEST SINGLE-DAY RISES IN BOTH NEW COVID-19 CASES AND DEATHS SINCE THE START OF THE OUTBREAK

(CNN) – Mexico has recorded its largest single-day rises in both new COVID-19 cases and deaths since the start of the outbreak.

Mexican health officials reported 3,455 new cases on Tuesday evening, for a total of 74,560.

Authorities also reported an additional 501 deaths, bringing the total to 8,134.

This marks the first time Mexico has reported over 500 coronavirus deaths in one day.

The new records come as Mexico’s government plans a slow, phased reopening of certain parts of the economy in locations less affected by the virus.
