Rain Showers Continue But With Cooler Temperatures Today

The Southeast continues to be in the middle of a couple weather systems that will continue to combine to produce higher rain chances for the next several days. An easterly wave in the Gulf of Mexico and a cool surface wedge in the Carolina’s and northern Georgia will be our main weather makers for our viewing area. Moderate to occasionally heavy rain showers will mainly affect our area today; low instability (Cape/Energy) values will lead to only isolated thunderstorms possible. Mostly cloudy to cloudy conditions will dominate our skies with highs struggling to make it into the lower 80s today (about 7 degrees below normal). Rain chances will continue overnight, with lows in the middle to upper 60s. Overall, out wet weather pattern doesn’t change much over the next several days with high rain chances continuing each day.
