Late Afternoon Thunderstorms Continue This Memorial Day

More showers and thunderstorms are likely in the peak heating of the day. Our weather pattern will not change much as we are sandwiched in between several weather systems. High pressure in the Atlantic, a low pressure in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and an upper level low over Texas will all combine forces to bring increased rain chances through the rest of the week. Showers and thunderstorms will wait to form  after 3 PM for most locations on your Memorial Day. Some of the storms could be strong with gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning. Highs near 90 degrees will be the norm for all of our viewing area, with the heat index pushing values into the 90s. Abundant cloud cover and rain showers will help to keep the temperatures in the upper 70s tomorrow.
