Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms Through the Memorial Day Weekend

A good portion of the area saw strong to severe thunderstorms roll through this afternoon (still seeing some even now) as that wedge front that has been stationary for the last few days is now slowly moving north as a warm front. This will suck in warm, moist air from the Gulf, so daytime highs will rise into the 90s for the weekend.

A cold front approaching from the northeast (backdoor front) is projected to move into the area on Sunday. This front will tap into ample moisture giving us a decent chance for showers into Memorial Day. There could be enough instability to trigger a few isolated thunderstorms, too.

Another wedge looks to build up on Monday and could allow for daytime highs to fall shy of 90 degrees.
