Pat Dye Tests Positive for Covid-19

Longtime Head Football Coach at Auburn University, Pat Dye, Tests Positive for Coronavirus.

Coronavirus has affected us all in one way or another. But, now it hits close to the Auburn community. Coach Pat Dye, longtime head coach of Auburn Football, tested positive for Coronavirus earlier this week.

Though he is asymptomatic, he has since been hospitalized in Atlanta due to ongoing kidney problems.

Coach Dye is considered to be one of the greatest head coaches in Auburn Tiger history. He was honored this past season, with the 1989 Auburn Football team, for his part in revolutionizing the Iron Bowl. That wasn’t his only success at Auburn, winning 3 SEC Championships and a National Championship, (1983). His individual success is marked by also winning the SEC Coach of the Year on three separate occasions.

WLTZ wishes Coach Dye the best. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, as we hope for a fast recovery.
