Afternoon Rain Showers And Isolated Thunderstorms Today
One more day of below normal temperatures, courtesy of an upper level low pressure to our north. This low pressure system has been meandering around the Southeast for several days and finally the system will lift out toward the northeast. Highs will only reach into the upper 70s and low 80s today, several degrees below the normal high of 85. Small rain chances will continue in our area mainly during the late afternoon and evening hours. A weak frontal system is stretched across the area and will slowly move to the north over the next day or so. The movement of this frontal system will represent the return of more summer like temperatures. Chances of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms don’t go totally away but will diminish over the weekend. Looking at the beginning of next for Memorial Day, unfortunately we’re looking at higher rain chances currently. Of course, we’re several days away and we will give you several updates.
