EASYJET HACKERS STOLE DATA ON 9 MILLION CUSTOMERS AND THOUSANDS OF CREDIT CARD NUMBERS
(CNN) – Hackers have stolen the data of millions of EasyJet customers.
The European budget airline said in a statement on Tuesday, a “sophisticated source” had accessed the email address and travel details of approximately 9-million customers.
And possibly stole the credit card numbers of more than 2,000 customers.
EasyJet did not say when the attack took place.
CEO Johan Lundgren apologized to customers and said EasyJet was contacting everyone impacted to offer support.
EasyJet grounded all of its planes in Europe in March as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The airline has not confirmed when it will start flying again.
