USS Roosevelt Sailors Training On Simulation
CORONAVIRUS STRICKEN AIRCRAFT CARRIER SIMULATES BEING AT SEA IN PREPARATION FOR RETURNING TO OPERATIONS
(CNN) – The USS Theodore Roosevelt is in preparation to return to active operations.
Right now the ship is at naval base Guam and sailors aboard the coronavirus stricken aircraft carrier “are simulating being at sea.”
It comes as the Navy continues to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic aboard that ship.
Recently 13 sailors from the USS Roosevelt tested positive for coronavirus.
This, after they had returned as part of the effort to make the ship operational again following a COVID-19 outbreak in March.
That’s when more than 1,000 of the Roosevelt’s nearly 4,900 crew members tested positive for the virus.
Despite the most recent setback, the Navy is proceeding with the simulation.
