Memorial Day Weekend COVID-19 Testing for Georgia Residents

LOCATIONS: SUMTER CO. HEALTH DEPARTMENT, HARRIS CO. HIGH SCHOOL AND STEWART CO. MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL

As restaurants, gyms and more begin to open at a limited capacity in Georgia, positive COVID-19 cases continue to fluctuate. Especially in places like Muscogee County where testing kits are becoming more readily available.

“You know, we’re not on a level yet. We’re still seeing an increase in positives,” said West Central Health District Public Relations/Information Coordinator Pamela Kirkland. “Naturally that’s what’s going to happen when doing more testing, and we’ve been able to ramp up our testing numbers a lot since we first started. The availability of kits is just tremendous now, and whereas before we had trouble getting the kits and the supplies for testing.”

So far in Muscogee County there have been 444 positive cases and 16 deaths.

To be tested, individuals must be Georgia residents. Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
Fever                                           Chills                                                      Headache
Cough                                         Muscle Pain                                           Sore Throat
