Clear but Cool Weekend!

WARMUP IN STORE FOR LATER NEXT WEEK

Beautiful conditions are around the area this weekend, with sunny skies galore. However, temperatures are running some 5-10 degrees below average as a cool and dry air mass has settled in. Lows over the weekend will be in the 40s to around 50 degrees in most places with highs in the 70s.

A reinforcing shot of slightly cooler air is in store for Monday with a dry cold frontal passage. Lows Monday night will be mainly in the 40s before moderating into the 50s to around 60 degrees by late week. Highs will start in the 70s on Monday and Tuesday, top the 80 degree mark on Wednesday, and then rise well into the 80s by Thursday and Friday as the May sun will have worked over the dry air mass and moderated temperatures back to or even slightly above average levels.

With no rain expected in the forecast this week and breezy conditions over the weekend and Monday, caution should continue to be exercised with any open fires outdoors. Don’t let the wet first four months of the year fool you into believing it’s safe to burn! The dry weather and gusty winds are a perfect combination for wildfire development for any burns left unchecked.
