Paws Humane Society Offers Humane Education Package for the Young Animal Advocate at Home

In the midst of the global pandemic we are facing, Paws Humane Society releases educational resources aimed at teaching young animal advocates at home about animal welfare and behavior, how to humanely care for your pets, and various fun dog and cat themed activities.

“Our Humane Education program teaches children and animal lovers of all ages, by providing fun and interactive tools to support the safe connection between children and animals,” says Hannah Vieira, Paws Humane Community Engagement Manager.

“With children out of school, we wanted to move a portion of our program online, to ensure there is no gap in providing lessons of compassion, respect and care for animals.”

Humane Education is an ongoing program offered by Paws Humane that normally consists of lessons focused on animal welfare and taught in a classroom environment or school event such as Career or STEAM Day.

Partnering with “The Family Dog”, Paws Humane has moved all humane education lessons to an online format in an effort to support families who are currently homeschooling due to Covid-19.

In the humane education package, materials are centered around animal body language, “I Speak Doggie” Song and Dance, coloring activities and more.
