Japan Approves Remdesivir To Treat COVID-19
ON THURSDAY JAPAN APPROVED THE USE OF THE EXPERIMENTAL ANTI-VIRAL DRUG REMDESIVIR FOR COVID-19
(CNN0 – Japan’s government has approved the use of the experimental anti-viral drug Remdesivir for the treatment of coronavirus.
The drug developed by Gilead Pharmaceuticals will be used on patients with severe symptoms.
Remdesivir was found by U.S. government researchers to shorten the duration of the illness, but it had no statistically significant effect on whether or not patients died.
Last week, the U.S. government authorized Remdesivir for emergency use in patients with severe COVID-19.
