Lagrange College Sports Management Club Puts On 2K Tournament for COVID-19 Relief Funds

NBA 2K TOURNAMENT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR COLUMBUS AND ATLANTA AREA FOOD BANKS

The sports management club at Lagrange College is putting on a NBA 2K tournament that features current and former Lagrange College students around the world, professional gamers and anybody else who wants to play.

At least half of the proceeds will support food banks in the Columbus and Atlanta areas.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, food banks are running at about 150% of their normal distribution rate.

The director of sports management at Lagrange College, found a way for his students to still put on a tournament, while supporting those in need.

“Everything is canceled, so what do we do?” said Sports Management Program, Director, Preston James IV. “We work from home, we work online and stay safe. I try to teach my students to be good corporate citizens and they start now as students. So we’re giving back to the food banks.”

“Everything has shut down. There’s reruns of stuff on TV. So to create an event that is unique is truly awesome to see,” says Lagrange College Senior, Daniel Lancaster.

If you would like to donate to their cause visit Lcsm.Eventbrite.com

Every $1 donated provides 6 meals for families in need. Donations are accepted throughout the week, not just during the tournament.
