Plenty of Sunshine and Drier Weather To Start The Week

After all the heavy rainfall from the past 12 hours, we’ll finally dry out for a couple days.  The sun will brighten the sky later in the afternoon and highs will push into the middle 70s for most of us. Breezy winds out of the northwest will make it feel a tad cooler. Expect patchy dense fog to develop tonight into the morning hours, especially with the soils soaked from recent rainfalls. Tuesday, is another dry and mild day before rain and storms arrive late Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Currently, the setup on Thursday certainly bears watching as we could be looking at another round of heavy rainfall and strong/severe storms on Thursday. The good news is this system is several days out and better details will start to emerge.  Also remember the Chattahoochee River is under a flood warning until Tuesday Evening. As of this writing, the current stage is 32.2 feet and rising (flood stage is 27.0 feet), the crest should occur around 33.8 feet.
