Peloton Worker Has COVID, Live Classes Canceled
PELOTON SUSPENDS LIVE CLASSES THROUGH END OF APRIL
(CNN) – Peloton is putting its live video fitness classes on hold through the end of the month.
The company made the announcement after an employee in its New York studio tested positive for COVID-19.
But the announcement came only after a backlash from its customers.
Peloton said the employee tested positive late last week.
But the company initially planned to resume the classes Tuesday, after suspending them at the New York studio over the weekend.
However, customers slammed the decision on Facebook, saying all classes should be stopped to keep the trainers safe.
Peloton streams its classes from New York and London for customers who pay a monthly fee.
Archived classes are still available for subscribers.
