Boeing To Redo Bungled Starliner Test Flight

BOEING'S STARLINER SPACECRAFT TO HAVE ANOTHER TEST FLIGHT

(CNN) – Boeing will give another test run to a spacecraft designed to take U.S. astronauts to space.

The company says it will repeat a test flight of its Starliner Spacecraft, after botching the first flight.

A person familiar with the matter says the second try will likely happen this fall.

Both Boeing and SpaceX are developing spacecraft for future U.S. crewed missions.

But the Starliner encountered a series of problems during its first un-crewed flight in December.

Its mission was cut short and officials scrapped plans for a docking with the International Space Station.

Boeing says taxpayers will not be on the hook for the second test flight.
