Strong Storms Possible Tuesday

After a quiet Monday, things will start to get active again as we move along this week. A good bit of moisture will be injected into the area Tuesday as a short wave will tap into it causing scattered showers Tuesday into Wednesday. There will also be just enough instability to trigger a few isolated thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and evening. Some storms could turn strong Tuesday evening/early Wednesday morning with gusty winds up to 40 mph the main threat. It stands as a MARGINAL threat for our southern viewing area as of now.

A cold front will move through late week giving us a chance for rain Thursday into Friday. This will also help cool temperatures down a good bit.

The weekend forecast is a bit tricky depending at what models you look at. Right now, will go with at least isolated showers for Saturday and Sunday with pockets of heavy rainfall possible. A few thunderstorms on Saturday are not out of the question.

Afternoon highs will run up to 10 degrees above normal through Thursday with overnight lows 10-15 degrees above average during that same stretch. Expect closer to normal seasonal temperatures Friday through the weekend.
