Cool Nights, Mild Days, Warmer Weekend
CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND STORMS RETURNS NEXT WEEK
High pressure continues to dominate our weather today and will do so through the early part of the weekend as well. After highs warm up to the 70-75 degree range for most of us today, we will have one more pretty cool night with lows again mainly in the 40s. Warmer weather is in store for Friday under mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle to upper 70s with perhaps a few locations touching the 80 degree mark.
A cold front will move quickly towards our area this weekend, but with the high pressure holding on until the front gets here, there won’t be any time at all for a return flow of moisture from the Gulf, therefore leading to a dry frontal passage. It will be a great weekend weatherwise with partly to mostly sunny skies, highs well into the low to mid 80s, and lows in the 50s to lower 60s.
Even warmer weather is on tap for next week with an increase in humidity as well. A slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm enters the picture Monday with slightly better chances for the remainder of the week. Highs will creep up into the mid 80s by midweek, and the added moisture will only allow lows to dip into the 60s each morning. A risk of strong storms may be in the cards for late next week, but with the event 8 to 9 days out, there are still a lot of details to be worked out before we hone in on the threat.
