Local Restaurants Respond to Coronvirus Pandemic
A lot of restaurants are feeling the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Depot in Auburn has closed their doors and suspended curbside pickup for the health and wellness of their staff.
The Depot had to temporarily lay off a big portion of their staff and right now they are assessing what to do once the pandemic is over.
Chef and co-owner Scott Simpson has worked in restaurants all over the world and says this is something he’s never experienced before.
They released this statement on their website:
“Dear Auburn Family, thank you to everyone who has been so supportive to us over the past few weeks! We are humbled by your loyalty and incredible generosity! With the safety and health of our staff foremost in mind, we are going to take some much needed time to reevaluate the developing situation and we will be temporarily closing effective Saturday, March 28th after dinner service. We highly recommend you take advantage of these limited and exclusive specials from our kitchen. WE HAVE THE BEST MEATS (AND FRESH GULF OYSTERS from Isle Dauphin BEING HARVESTED!)
