Taliban Refuses To Work With Afghan Government On Peace Deal
THE TALIBAN REFUSES TO WORK WITH THE TEAM ASSIGNED BY THE AFGHAN GOVERNMENT FOR THE US-BROKERED PEACE PROCESS
(CNN) – The Taliban will not negotiate with the team assigned by the Afghan government for the U.S.-brokered peace process.
The designated team did not meet the requirements agreed upon with the Americans to include all Afghan factions;
that’s according to a statement by Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid released Saturday.
It reads, “We shall only sit for talks with a negotiation team that conforms with our agreements and is constituted in accordance with the laid-out principles.”
