The Department of Public Health Addresses Cases of COVID-19 in Our Area

The West Central Health District is currently tracking cases of COVID-19 in Sumter, Muscogee, Crisp, Harris, Macon and Randolph counties.

The Health Department is advising people to work from home if you can, try not to go out for two weeks and wash your hands often.

The elderly and those with chronic medical conditions are at an increased risk of developing severe reactions to the virus.

But, we are also still dealing with the flu and allergies.

So, the Health Department just wants you to be aware of your symptoms.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and difficulty breathing.

The Department of Public Health and MercyMed are teaming up to provide tests. Drive thru sites are available in the lot behind DPH and MercyMed.
