COVID-19 STATEMENT FROM WLTZ MANAGEMENT
We have learned that a girlfriend of a WLTZ employee has tested positive for the Coronavirus. Again, this is a girlfriend of one of our employees. The WLTZ employee who has been exposed to his close friend has been tested and results are forthcoming.
As a result, and although the employee works remotely in most cases (but not all), WLTZ is taking even more precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the remainder of the WLTZ staff. The WLTZ facilities are being deep cleaned by an industrial cleaning company and all personnel who can work from home have been instructed to do so. This includes reporters, producers, sales, traffic and administrative personnel- essentially everyone at WLTZ. In addition, any employee who has had any extended close contact with this employee is being asked to self-isolate.
From our own experience we are stressing the call to everyone in the Columbus, Auburn, Opelika, LaGrange, all communities in the WLTZ coverage area to be diligent because the Coronavirus does not discriminate. All of us are susceptible and we are indeed in this together. Please know we are committed to the communities we serve but we know you will all agree, the safety and welfare of our employees is paramount.
