Springlike End to Week…
...COOLER AND WETTER WEEKEND AHEAD
Springlike weather dominated the Chattahoochee Valley again today with high temperatures peaking in the 75-80 degree range. Very isolated showers popped up over parts of the area, giving a few a small dose of rainfall. The showers will diminish as we lose daytime heating, with lows tonight around the 60 degree mark.
The weather looks to be the same for each of the next three days. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will feature warm days, mild nights, and a chance of a shower or thunderstorm during the peak heating of the day. It sounds like a summertime forecast, but the temperatures will be more reminiscent of late spring with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows primarily between 60 and 65 degrees.
The cold front meandering to our north finally pushes through this weekend. It will increase our shower and storm chances Saturday and will provide a good chance of rainfall on Sunday and early Monday as well. With the frontal passage and cloud cover, highs will be held down into the low to mid 70s on Saturday and mainly in the 60s on Sunday and Monday, with lows in the lower to middle 50s once the front passes the area.
Slightly drier weather is on tap for early next week ahead of another warmup. Showers and thunderstorms may be in the offing for late next week; some computer models bring some strong storms into the picture in the 8-10 day time frame, next Wednesday through Friday. Way too soon for specifics or to have a high degree of confidence, but something to watch as we have had a very quiet month of March so far in the severe weather department.
