Muscogee County High School Sports Suspended till April 5 Due to COVID-19

PRACTICES AND GAMES ARE OFF LIMITS DUE TO RECOMMENDATION FROM GHSA

The Muscogee County Leadership Team met Thursday night to discuss the future of spring high school sports due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and they decided to suspend all sports activities through April 5. Here’s a statement from the team:

“The Muscogee County School District, following the guidance of the Georgia High School Association, is suspending all athletic activities at this time.  All athletic activities, including practices and games, will be suspended from March 13 through April 5, 2020.  We will reevaluate the situation on April 6 to determine if we are able to resume activities at that time.”

The suspension includes games, practices and team conditioning. Athletes will also not be allowed to workout in gyms, weight rooms, athletic facilities and fields The suspension of activities will go into effect on Friday, March 13.  This includes all weekday and weekend activities.
