Vatican Closes St. Peters Square To Tourists
ST. PETER'S SQUARE AND BASILICA ARE CLOSED TO TOURISTS TO HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS
(CNN) – The Vatican has closed Saint Peter’s Square and Basilica over concerns about the coronavirus.
The Vatican press office press said in a statement that the Vatican is coordinating with Italian authorities to combat the spread of the virus.
The closure also affects the Vatican’s museums including the Sistine Chapel until April 3rd.
The pharmacy and supermarket are still open with limited entry.
The employee cafeteria will shut down starting Wednesday.
It’s possible that a meal delivery service could be put into place if Vatican authorities request that it be activated.
