Spotty Rain Showers Today

Spring-like showers will be the norm today and for the rest of the upcoming week.  Rain showers today will not last long and some of you won’t see any rain at all today. This zonal flow pattern (storms systems quickly move west to east) will continue for the rest of the week.  Total rain accumulations are expected to be between 1 and 2 inches by this Friday.   At least the temperatures will be mild with highs mainly, in the 70s today.  Chance of rain today is about 40%.  The best rain chances today will reside in north Georgia.  Some lingering light rain showers are possible tonight, but most of  us will remain dry tonight.  Expect lows to only drop in the middle to upper 50s, well above normal (68 normal high for the Columbus area and 45 normal low for the Columbus area).

Better rain chances arrive Wednesday also with a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon hours.  Some of the storms could become strong tomorrow but I’m not expecting any widespread severe weather.  Highs will top out around 74 degrees tomorrow. Keep the rain gear near.
