One More Day of Storms, Nice Weekend
STORMS TODAY; CLEARING TONIGHT
Periods of moderate to heavy rain with elevated thunderstorms over the area will continue through the day today. A couple of storms may be on the strong side with gusty winds and perhaps some hail, but the main severe weather threat will stay to our south.
The low pressure system responsible for all the wet weather will finally pull away later tonight. The rain will cease by late afternoon, with skies clearing tonight as well. Lows will be mainly in the 40s tonight.
Friday through the weekend will feature beautifully clear skies and loads of sunshine. Highs will be in the lower 60s Friday to the mid to upper 60s by Sunday, with lows in the 30s both Saturday and Sunday mornings. A few outlying areas may see a light freeze on Saturday morning as lows dip into the 30-32 range, but a widespread freeze is not expected.
Rain chances will return by early next week, but it doesn’t look to be as significant as the last few systems. Highs will increase to the 70s outside the rainfall with lows in the 50s by the middle of the week.
