Central-Talbotton Advances to First GHSA State Championship Since 1986

THE HAWKS GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM HAS WON THREE TITLES (1984, 1985 AND 1986)

The Central-Talbotton Hawks girls basketball team is on a roll, after falling short in the GHSA A Public Elite Eight last season. With the entire roster back, the Hawks are now (28-1) after defeating Calhoun County 63-44 on Friday at Valdosta State in the State Semifinals.

Up next, Central-Talbotton will play in the program’s first State Championship game since 1986 when the team captured it’s third straight title. The Hawks will face Wheeler County on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. EST in the Macon Centreplex. Wheeler County is playing in their first State Championship game, so both teams are making history.
