Milwaukee, WI (WITI) – While flu activity remains high in most regions of the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu shot is working.
According to a CDC report published on Thursday; the vaccine reduced doctor visits associated with flu by 45%.
For the influenza B/victoria viruses it was 50% effective.
It was only 37% effective against influenza A.
This flu season has been particularly tough on children.
105 children have died from flu in the U.S. so far this season.
Flu season is likely to continue for several more weeks.
