A Day of Service at the Curtis House in Opelika

In honor of MLK Day, the Auburn University black graduate student and professional association joined the “100 black men” organization to lead a day of service at the Curtis House in Opelika.

The Curtis House was founded by Rep. Jeremy Gray and, once complete, will serve as a community center for the local Jeter neighborhood.

Volunteers worked in the community garden, painted, provided general clean up and prepared the Curtis House for further development.

Once complete, The Curtis House will provide education and literacy programs, after school activities and community events to the surrounding neighborhood.
