CDC: Flu Killed 39 Children, Virus Activity Declining

CDC: SEVEN MORE PEDIATRIC FLU DEATHS REPORTED LAST WEEK, BRINGING THE NUMBER OF CHILD FLU DEATHS THIS SEASON TO 39

(CNN) – Flu activity across the United States dropped for the second week in a row; this as seven more children died from it.

That brings the total for the season, which started September 29th; to 39.

The CDC says there have been at least 13 million cases of the flu in the U.S., with 120,000 hospitalizations and 6,600 deaths.

It’s still too soon to say for sure that peak flu season is past.

The virus still remains widespread in nearly every state.
