Pepsi Nears 100% Renewable Energy Production
PEPSICO SAYS IT WILL USE 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY IN US OPERATIONS
(CNN) – Pepsi is going green.
Pepsico Inc. announced on Wednesday it plans to use 100% renewable electricity for its U.S. operations.
That means products ranging from Lay’s chips to drinks including Pepsi and Gatorade will be made using wind and solar power.
As a result the company says it will be eliminating about a half million metric tons of emissions a year.
The move is a part of Pepsico’s goal to cut 20% of its greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030.
