Patrick Nix Named Head Coach at Central High School
PATRICK NIX LEAVES PINSON VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL TO BE THE HEAD COACH AT CENTRAL
After one week of searching the Central Red Devils found their new head coach.
Former Auburn Quarterback Patrick Nix left Pinson Valley High School Tuesday morning to accept the job at Central.
Last week, Jamey Dubose stepped down from coaching the Red Devils and retired from coaching in the state of Alabama. Tuesday afternoon they found their new guy to lead the program.
Pat Nix has spent the last three years as the head coach of Pinson Valley High School.
During his time there, he led the Indians to back-to-back AHSAA 6A State Championships in 2017 and 2018 with the help of his son Bo at quarterback.
During his time at Auburn in the mid 90’s he completed nearly 60% of his passes for 4,957 yards.
In Nix’s introductory press conference, he told the fans what they can expect of him.
“I’m a very passionate and very intense person. Most people that know me know that I’m going to tear up a few times when I talk, but you can believe I’m very sincere with what I say,” said Nix. “I’m very thankful to Mr. Wilkes and Mr. Vickers.”
Patrick Nix is married to Krista and they have four children. Emma and Bo are both enrolled at Auburn Univeristy. Caleb is in grade 10 and their youngest, Sara is in grade 6. Patrick is the son of Pasty and Conrad Nix. Conrad is a longtime high school in Alabama and Georgia, winning more than 300 games.
