TSA Screened Nearly 44 Mil People During Holiday Travel

TSA SAYS THE HOLIDAY TRAVEL SEASON SAW 4% MORE TRAVELERS THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE

(CNN) – Travelers this holiday season may have noticed airports seemed busier than years passed.

The Transportation Security Administration says it screened nearly 44 million passengers between December 19th and January 5th.

That’s a four percent increase from the same time period last year.

The agency says it kept checkpoints fully staffed by paying out over-time to employees.

According to the TSA, 99.8% of all passengers waited less than 30 minutes in line.

More than 99% of passengers with TSA pre-check waited less than 10 minutes.

Last month; a whistle-blower alleged the TSA is achieving short wait times by relaxing security measures.
