GOP Senator Replacing Johnny Isakson Sworn In
BUSINESSWOMAN KELLY LOEFFLER SWORN IN AT CAPITOL
(CNN) The newsest U-S Senator was officially sworn in Monday.
Vice President Mike Pence administered the oath of office to Georgia’s Kelly Loeffler in the US Capitol.
Loeffler was a financial services firm executive before Georgia Governor Brian Kemp appointed her to the seat in December.
She replaces former Republican Senator Johnny Isakson. The senior senator retired at the end of 2019 due to health concerns.
Loeffler will still have to run and win this year’s election to serve out the final two years of Isakson’s term.
