Cincinnati Zoo’s Walter The Warthog Has Died

CINCINNATI ZOO'S WALTER THE WARTHOG HAS DIED

(CNN) – The Cincinnati Zoo is saying goodbye to its beloved warthog Walter, who passed away unexpectedly Saturday.

The zoo made the announcement on Facebook.

A warthog’s typical life span is 11 years, but Walter was just six.

According to the zoo, everything seemed fine with Walter until Saturday, when he didn’t finish his food.

This was unusual for him, so the vets checked him out and found a badly enlarged bladder; most likely caused by a blocked urethra.

By the time they found the problem it was too late.

A necropsy will be performed to determine more about Walter’s cause of death.
