Marion County Eagles Celebrate Send-Off to State

EAGLES FANS AND STUDENTS WAVED GOOD LUCK TO THE FOOTBALL TEAM BEFORE THE GHSA A PUBLIC STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Marion County Eagles have seven region titles and one state championship under their belt, but the Eagles are hungry to win their school’s second state title since 2013.

Fans lined up around the courthouse and students made sure to wave good luck at the elementary and high school less than 24 hours away from kickoff. The Eagles will face the GHSA A Public number one team, the Irwin County Indians.

“There was a little girl holding up a sign that said ‘We’re here. Work Hard Trice McCannon.’ Had my number on it. She held it up,” said senior quarterback McCannon. “That means a lot because we know that everyone is counting on us, and we want to do it for the little kids because we want them to know they can do it too.”

Kickoff is set for Saturday, December 14 at 10 a.m. at Georgia State Stadium in Atlanta.
