Marion County Advances to GHSA A Public State Championship

EAGLES SOAR PAST HORNETS 42-25 IN THE SEMIFINALS

The Marion County Eagles have soared to another GHSA State Championship after defeating the Pelham Hornets 42-25 in the A Public State Semifinals. The Eagles (11-2) answered and finally took control in the second half. Senior quarterback Trice McCannon led the way through the air and on the ground.

The Eagles will play in the A Public State Championship against Irwin County on Saturday, December 14 at 10 a.m. EST at Georgia State University in Atlanta. This marks the Indians fifth state title game in six years, but yet Irwin County has only won one championship back in 1975. Marion County also has one state championship, which was earned back in 2013.
