Heisman Trophy Winner Pat Sullivan Passes Away at 69

Auburn Legend loses his long battle to cancer, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 69

Pat Sullivan needs no introduction to the Auburn Family. He was the first Heisman trophy winner for the Tigers, and a Quarterback coach later in his life.

He passed away on Sunday, surrounded by his loved ones. This was one day after Auburn defeated Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

Gus Malzahn had this to say about the former Heisman trophy winner, “He was a friend, mentor and a man of great character, who was beloved by many generations of Auburn fans. Pat Sullivan is, and always will be, the definition of an Auburn Man.”
Sullivan is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Kim, Kelly and Patrick; and eight grandchildren.
