Wet Start to Weekend Coming Up
DRY THURSDAY, INCREASING CLOUDS FRIDAY
Your Thursday will be dry, but there will be a noticeable increase in both clouds and moisture. Highs will be very pleasant, topping out around 70 degrees in most locales. Lows will be kept up tonight in the upper 40s and lower 50s with the blanket of clouds and moisture around.
Friday will feature a further increase in clouds but highs again in the 68-74 degree range. There is an outside small chance of an isolated shower Friday evening that may threaten high school playoff games, but most fields should remain dry as the bulk of the rainfall will come Saturday.
Saturday may see some instability creep into the area, especially in the southern reaches of the viewing area like Eufaula and Americus, and there is a small chance of thunderstorms, the strongest of which may have a few strong wind gusts. Outside of the storms, rain showers are a near certainty as a front approaches the area. Games at both Jordan-Hare in Auburn and Sanford Stadium in Athens may be wet!
The front clears the area Saturday night, leaving mostly sunny skies and cool conditions Sunday and Monday with highs around 60 and lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s. An early peek at Thanksgiving shows a dry Turkey Day with mild conditions and highs in the upper 60s and lows around 50. Of course, with seven days until the holiday, the forecast is subject to change.
