Rainy Friday; Clearing for the Weekend

RAIN MAY LINGER INTO FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAMES

TGIF! The weather isn’t very Friday-like this morning with clouds, rain showers, and drizzle around the area. Temperatures have been held in check as a result, mainly in the low to mid 40s to start the day. Those temps will only rise very little during the day as we will remain socked in with clouds and scattered light rainfall. Highs look to be in the upper 40s to lower 50s, with a little northerly breeze kicking in by afternoon to make things feel just a little more raw outside. Current indications are scattered light rain showers may hang around long enough to make Friday night high school football playoff games tricky; at the very least, clouds and cool temperatures in the 40s will be the rule through the evening.

Clouds will clear Saturday morning as low pressure departs up the Atlantic coast and high pressure moving in from the southern Plains sets in, making for a beautiful weekend. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s, with lows each morning in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

A slight chance of rain is in the cards for early next week as a disturbance passes through the Gulf of Mexico to our south. After that, the week looks dry and more mild with highs in the 65-70 range by the end of the week and lows mainly in the 40s, with some upper 30s possible Monday and Tuesday mornings.
