Freezing Temps Today and Tomorrow; Rain on the Way

After a morning with widespread lows in the 20s and setting a record low in Columbus, we’ll see highs a few degrees either side of 50 before the weather changes tonight.

Clouds will start to increase in response to moisture moving in from the southwest and an approaching cold front. A slight chance of rain enters the picture beginning Thursday afternoon, with greater chances into Thursday night and Friday morning. Lows will be kept up tonight due to the increase in cloud cover, only reaching the 30-35 range across the area.

The rain moves out by Friday afternoon with clearing skies and highs around 60. The frontal passage won’t bring nearly as cold of an air mass as the one currently residing over the region, but lows will be mainly in the middle to upper 30s Saturday and Sunday mornings. Brilliant sunshine during the day will raise highs into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Even warmer weather is on tap for the beginning of next week with highs in the mid to upper 60s and lows in the 40s with partly cloudy skies.
