Adidas Closing 2 Factories, Moving To Asia
ADIDAS IS CLOSING HI-TECH SNEAKER FACTORIES IN GERMANY AND THE U.S.
(CNN) – Adidas is shutting down two cutting-edge shoe factories.
The company says it will be closing what it calls ‘speed-factories’ where automated technology is used to produce one million sneakers a year.
One of the factories is in Germany.
The other is in Atlanta.
Adidas says it will move production to suppliers in Vietnam and China.
The company says the move is for organizational reasons and not financial.
The factories are expected to be closed by April 2020.
