A Pleasant Monday, Frigid Conditions Coming
Clouds will increase as the day progresses ahead of a very strong cold front that will bring the coldest temperatures so far this Fall season. Isolated showers late tonight will turn more scattered Tuesday morning as the front pushes through.
Rain and clouds clear out Tuesday afternoon as a frigid air mass moves in causing temperatures to fall during the day. We start off Tuesday in the low to mid 50s, but end up in the low to mid 40s by the end of the workday. Winds will also be quite blustery on Tuesday bringing winds chills down into the upper 30s to low 40s for most of the day.
Tuesday and Wednesday nights will see overnight lows dip below freezing. Freeze Warnings have been issued for Chambers, Lee, Russell and Barbour counties. Daytime highs Wednesday and Thursday will reach the upper 40s to mid 50s respectively before rebounding to the 60s Friday into the weekend, but still between 5-10 degrees below normal. Nighttime lows will also remain a few degrees below average.
High pressure takes over behind the front, so expect dry and sunny conditions Wednesday through Saturday. Another system looks to develop late in the week that could bring rain Sunday into Monday.
