Lanett Panthers Are Hungry to Win It All

The Lanett Panthers are gearing up for their first round playoff game against Keith.

They’re coming off of a perfect regular season and are rolling as they head into the post season.

Over the past three games, their defense has not given up a single point, while their offense has scored a total of 138 points.

That’s the kind of momentum you want to take into the playoffs, but head coach Clifford Story knows it’s a whole different ball game once the playoffs start.

“Teams are going to have a lot of film on you, they’re going to scheme you up and they’re going to be prepared to play you,” said Story. “We have to make sure that we’re hitting on all cylinders in all three phases of the game and being able to fight through some adversity and stay locked in and focused throughout the playoffs. Just don’t get complacent or content in thinking that the game is won just because we’ve had some success int the past. We just want to make sure our kids are locked in and focused.”

Kickoff in Lanett’s first round playoff game against Keith is slated for 8pm Eastern at Morgan-Washburn Stadium.

Additionally, Lanett QB Kristian Story has a chance to break the AHSAA Career Touchdown record.
