Cool then Cold!

A cold front will pass through tonight dragging rain behind it through early tomorrow morning. Once the front passes, cooler and drier air will spread in through the weekend as high pressure takes over. Highs will struggle to get out of the 50s Friday and Saturday with nighttime lows in the mid to upper 30s. A Freeze Watch will be in effect for Troup County late Friday night into Saturday morning. A brief warm up is expected Sunday and Monday before things turn much colder.

Another cold front, this one much stronger, will pass through by Monday evening kicking up isolated showers in its wake on Tuesday. This front will usher in the coldest air we’ve seen so far this Fall season. A big blast of arctic air will bring temperatures down into the upper 40s to low 50s for highs Wednesday and Thursday with overnight lows possibly below freezing Tuesday night and Wednesday night. With moisture on the ground, a Freeze Watch or even a Warning will likely will be issued.
