Warm Midweek, Cool Weekend, COLD Next Week

Isolated sprinkles and cloudy skies are in the cards for your Tuesday morning as a weak disturbance moves by to our south. The disturbance will move away later today, partially clearing skies by afternoon with highs in the 70-75 range. A weak cold front moves through bringing slightly cooler air and lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Temperatures will not change much during the afternoons with highs in the low to mid 70s Wednesday and Thursday.

A slightly stronger cold front is poised to move through Friday morning, bringing a chance of rain mainly overnight Thursday night into Friday morning. Behind the front, a cooler air mass will bring clear and cool conditions for the weekend with lows mainly in the 40s (upper 30s for some sheltered rural spots) and highs in the 60s.

An even sharper cold front will open the door for a modified Arctic air mass for the middle of next week. A widespread freeze is expected Tuesday morning with an even colder temperature expected Wednesday morning. Highs will struggle to get out of the 40s next Tuesday as cold air advection takes hold over the area. Cold weather is expected to stick around through late next week.
