Cabo San Lucas To Charge $19 Tourist Tax Starting Saturday
FOREIGN VISITORS WILL PAY NEW TOURIST TAX IN BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR
(CNN) – If you’re planning to vacation in Cabo, get ready to pay a new tourist tax.
State government officials in Mexico say all foreign tourists will have to pay an extra $18.50.
Visitors who fly into Baja California Sur will be able to pay at airport kiosks or through a website or app.
The state expects to raise more than $25 million a year.
Officials say the money will help the quality of life for many people who live in tourist-heavy areas .
The new tax goes into effect November 9th.
