Scholar Athlete of the Week: Calvary Christian’s Sophia Jacobs

SOPHIA MAINTAINS A 4.0 GPA WHILE BEING THE CAPTAIN OF THE CALVARY CHRISTIAN CHEER TEAM

Being the captain of your cheer team, taking 3 advanced courses and working a part time job can be a lot to handle.

For Sophia Jacobs it’s a challenge she embraces day by day.

“The biggest challenge would probably be just having motivation to get everything done because after I do it day in and day out, Sometimes I get a little burnt out, but I just have to be energetic like in cheer,” Said Calvary Christian Senior Cheer Captain, Sophia Jacobs.

While balancing all that she has going on, Sophia has a 4.0 GPA.  She credits her parents for her ability to succeed in so many areas.

“My parents are always pushing me to be the best I can be and they haven’t limited anything I can do. I have so many extra curricular activities and my job,” says Jacobs. They haven’t told me I can’t do it they want me pursue every dream that I have.

The hard work she’s put in has paid off and now she’s deciding where she wants to go to college.

I already applied to CSU and got accepted to the honors college there. I’d like to go there or UGA for music and journalism,” said Jacobs.

After college, one of the things Sophia wants to pursue, is a career as a news reporter.

“I love news stories, I love learning things and it s really exciting to hear breaking news and I love writing, especially creative writing,” said Jacobs.

Congratulations Sophia Jacobs WLTZ’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.
